Isolation
2020
3D print, foam, resin, paper
In this piece, I explore the complexity of self-isolation during the 2020 quarantine. Each floor of this tiny apartment represents an emotion I experienced during that time. The empty apartment with moving boxes reflects my initial flight response to the pandemic. My anxiety and depression brought on by the pandemic are showcased in the messy apartment. In the artist’s studio, my instinct to cope through creativity is capsulated through the creative environment. The exposed earth underneath the building gives an illusion of it being pulled forcibly from the ground as I have been uprooted from normalcy.
